Vehicle Tracking has evolved and we are now looking at these systems and realising that they are no longer just a tracking system, they are a management tool and offer a variety of tools for the fleet manager to make his fleet far more efficient and cost effective, increasing customer service and response times.
Simply tracking a vehicle can be used for the recovery of stolen vehicles and can reduce insurance premiums. Owners of expensive vehicles/bikes/assets may require to simply track the item and do not have a need for a management system to be accompanied with this.
Vehicle Tracking Systems can now be used to manage an entire fleet. They can record data and print reports on data that can enable the fleet manager to identify problematic areas and reward drivers on performance based areas i.e. not speeding, minimum idle time.
Fleet managers can locate their vehicles in real time. They can redirect vehicles to areas nearby that may need attending and choose the correct driver for the correct location.
Managers can offer customers accurate delivery/arrival times, ensuring a high level of customer service.
Records can be used to show and prove the driver has been on site and for how long. They also have the potential to dispute claims such as parking tickets if they do not believe they were stopped for the period of time claimed.
