It is important to many companies that they avoid unnecessary penalty fees that can be charged through driver road/parking related errors. Vehicle tracking systems provide many important alerts and notifications to help companies manage their fleets and some systems are able to monitor the London congestion zone.
Companies whose drivers are required to journey into London will know the importance of ensuring that the congestion charge is paid on time to avoid penalty fees. Many drivers do not realise when they have entered the congestion charging zone and have not paid the fee.
Some vehicle tracking systems provide a congestion charge alert. A ‘ring fence’ is accurately setup so that when a vehicle enters or exits the congestion charging zone the tracking system will immediately provide an alert/notification to the tracking user. This helps to avoid unnecessary penalties and congestion charge payments.
Other key alerts provided by many tracking systems include location based alerts, which like the ‘congestion charge alert’ notifies when a vehicle enters or exits a predetermined area on a map. The locations monitored can include employee home or customer addresses. The alerts feature is designed to notify a user of key events so that the user is not required to continually check the tracking system for certain events taking place.
