Vehicle theft tracking systems have significantly reduced the number of successful vehicle thefts. Due to the price tag of these systems falling significantly in recent years it means that there has never been a better time to install a system and benefit from the increased security and insurance discounts they can provide.
Vehicle theft tracking systems require that a small tracking device in installed covertly into a vehicle. These devices monitor and report the vehicles location to a manned monitoring station when reported stolen. More advanced systems actively monitor the car for suspicious activity such as a sudden impact, vibration or movement whilst the engine is off. Vehicles that are fitted with a theft tracking system are much more likely to be reunited with their owners when stolen, which is helping to protect individuals insurance premiums from claims being made against them.
The majority of anti theft tracking systems require an upfront payment for the tracking hardware and installation. Either a monthly, annual or lifetime subscription follows for the ongoing monitoring of the vehicle. When a vehicle is reported or detected to be stolen the manned monitoring station will contact the owner/driver to confirm the theft. Upon confirmation, the control office liaises with the Police to ensure a quick recovery of the vehicle.
