Providing customers with good service is paramount to any business that relies on customer retention. Further emphasis has been put on customer service due the recession and new business becoming hard to come by.
Many companies rely on their vehicles to provide their goods or services to customers. It is essential to ensure that these goods and services are delivered on time otherwise it may lead to a complaint from a customer; eventually it could lead to a strained relationship and a loss of business.
The difficulty is that when vehicles are involved in accidents, held up in traffic or have overrun with another customer they can be delayed for the rest of the day. In the majority of cases, providing the customer is kept informed then it will not result in a complaint.
GPS fleet tracking systems allow companies to monitor the movements and progress of drivers in real time. Should a vehicle be running behind schedule then it can be easily spotted and the customer can be informed.
Office staff can use the fleet tracking system to respond to incoming customer requests for progress updates. Using the tracking system for this purpose will provide a more efficient service as office staff will not need to contact the driver for an update.
