In a recent report released, Palletways who are a UK based palletised goods distributor have announced that they are now tracking there forklift trucks. They are said to be using a system by Transmon engineering and that in doing so have reduced their operating costs and enhanced their efficiency.
To put the mind at rest for large companies out there that can’t see management systems of the tracking kind being able to cope with their fleet, I’ll give you some idea of the scale Palletways works on.
They are said to process almost thirteen thousand pallets a day and across Europe around eighteen thousand. By taking advantage of technological advances, Palletways can support this level of service.
Reducing operating costs and highlighting areas in which driver training is required, Palletways are said to have installed a fleet management system into around fifty forklift trucks. The system offers a driver password protected system, ensuring only qualified drivers and authorised drivers can drive the trucks and carries out impact monitoring and measuring.
The system can offer a reminder for when a particular driver is due a refresh course and is able to record the amount of hours the driver has done so that service and maintenance issues can be booked in when absolutely ready.
