There are currently many ways of tracking an employee such as: vehicle, mobile phone and other lone worker tracking systems. Many of these systems include features that are specifically aimed at increasing the safety of company employees.
Vehicle tracking is mostly associated with reducing fuel costs, increasing productivity and improving vehicle security. However, vehicle tracking also monitors the way in which a vehicle is being driven. Many systems are able to report when and where a vehicle is speeding, and by how much the speed limit is being broken. These systems c an also monitor journey & driving times and can notify when journey duration exceeds HSA Health & Safety guidelines. Ensuring drivers cooperate with legal speed limits and take the required rest breaks improves their safety and that of other road users.
Many vehicle tracking suppliers are also able to offer Panic/SOS buttons. These devices allow drivers to raise a discreet alarm to their companies control centre/office to notify that they are in distress and in need of urgent assistance.
Lone worker tracking systems come in a variety of forms including: mobile phone, tags, 2 way radios (walkie talkies) and identity badges. Many of these devices feature a discreet SOS button that trigger an alert to their office. This devices have proved to effectively increase the safety of home visitors and construction site workers.
