TomTom WORK Reveals New Product Which Gives Real Time Digital Tachograh Data

On November 4th TomTom WORK, which is a division of TomTom that is specifically dedicated to vehicle fleet management revealed its latest product which integrates real time digital tachograph data into TomTom Webfleet.This product works by delivering live to a management office driving and resting times for drivers, this in turn allows dispatchers to schedule jobs more efficiently and provide reports that improve business efficiently.

In an environment where transport companies need to change and reschedule jobs frequently drivers resting times can become very confusing. When assigning jobs dispatchers need to know how much longer a particular driver has left before he has to have a rest break. The live tachograph display allows them to see data on each driver showing resting times and working times a driver is allowed, this then gives the dispatchers the ability how best to assign jobs based on the information the data received gives them.

The digital tachograph reading is also used by transport companies as a way to gain a reliable source on working time, before it would be days or weeks before they could access tachograph information as they had to wait for vehicles to return to the depot. With the ability to read tachograph information at the touch of a button administrative tasks have been made much easier and efficiently.
