TomTom WORK is a division of TomTom and dedicates themselves to Vehicle Fleets, in November they integrated a real time tachograph into TomTom WEBFLEET. By using this system and being able to view the information needed on a live display of the tachograph, dispatchers can have access to the amount of driving and resting time that drivers and their co drivers have had.
This means that the dispatchers can schedule jobs efficiently and run reports that are reliable and can assist in improving business efficiency.
Transport companies work in an extremely dynamic environment where jobs are forever changing and needing to be rescheduled, the tachograph just takes the difficulty out of doing this and is a major step forward for commercial fleets.
As the Tachograph can deliver live information, fleet managers no longer have to wait around for the vehicle to return to gain the reports from it on working time etc. Administration is proactive and figures can be manipulated immediately.
To gain the full impact of the TomTom WORK tracking system; it can be fully integrated with any companies back end system. Data on working times can be fed straight into pay systems, making salary payments and overtime much easier to deal with.
