The majority of tracking systems can provide users with real time alerts. These alerts keep tracking users up to date with driver progress and exceptional events such as when vehicles are speeding or exceeding journey time restrictions. These alerts can be delivered to users via on-screen notifications, email or text message (SMS). The benefit of these alerts is that they are able to keep managers and users informed of key activity without them needing to refer to the tracking system.
Speeding & idling alerts are a popular option for many companies. These alerts allow companies to not only ensure that fuel wastage is kept to a minimum but also ensures the safety of their drivers.
Location based alerts allow users to stay informed of vehicles that enter monitored addresses. These could be customer addresses, depots or employee’s home addresses. Location alerts help managers to ensure that their staff do not go to places that they shouldn’t and they can stay informed of their progress.
Late & Early alerts can be used alongside driver scheduling. Many tracking systems have a driver scheduling module that allows users to input driver appointments into the system. If a vehicle departs early or arrives late then the tracking system is able to provide an immediate alert.
There are many other real time alerts that a tracking system can provide.
