In a recent news release, Quartix were the tracking suppliers who had their system installed into a Vauxhall van worth around £10,000 which was promptly recovered b y police after being stolen in Edinburgh.
The van was owned by Eden Group and was parked outside the home of one of the engineers when it was stolen in the m idle of the night. As soon as Eden Group was made aware of this they contacted the police and were then able to login to the Quartix system and advised the police of the location of the van.
The system was able to pinpoint the vehicles locations being a deserted car park where its contents had been stolen.
However recovering the vehicle was a huge relief to the company; police were able to see all reports needed for the case and were able to get the vehicle back to the owner within around 24 hours. Interestingly the reports showed that the vehicle was never driven over the speed limit so it seems the thieves were trying their best not to bring attention to themselves.
Having a vehicle tracking system installed in this case has been extremely beneficial and Quartix offer a wide range of systems where fleet managers can track their vehicles and drivers in real time, 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week. Historical information is also available at the touch of a button.
