During the economic recession it has become increasingly difficult to get a leasing deal on a vehicle tracking system. Leasing companies are no longer providing leases for products that cost less than £1000 at retail, so for companies that only wish to buy one tracking unit, this can be a real problem. When faced with this issue companies can do one of two things; they can buy the tracking unit outright or they can try a ‘pay as you go’ option.
Companies with fleets often have no need to just purchase one vehicle tracking system, as a vast majority of vehicle tracking suppliers now provide ‘trial units’ when tendering for new business. This is so that you can see how the system is working for your company, and the benefits you can gain from installing one, without committing to payment. For small companies this trial period will probably be a week but for larger companies it can be up to a month.
Pay as you go options are generally more expensive than installing vehicle tracking on a lease deal, but this alternative has become increasingly popular in the past year due to the increased operational and cost benefits a tracking system can provide for companies.
