It is reported that Axminster, a machinery and power tool specialist have recently embarked on installing a tracking system produced by Paragon to assist them with route planning and other crucial areas a system can assist.
The system is helping Axminster provide on time deliveries throughout the UK, whether it be a large machine or a box of screws, all deliverers are as important as each other.
The report stated that they ship approximately one thousand orders a day which for a firm is difficult to execute. Some of these products actually require movement into a customer’s location and possible installation services.
With this in mind, delivery windows are crucial to getting all completed and has increased the level of customer service they are able to offer by pre warning customers if their delivery may be late. The system can also record the time spent at a location and can be used in any disputes that may arise.
The system is being used for daily planning and can arrange the planned route without any management input. However the logistics team can monitor throughout the course of the day that vehicles progress and know immediately of any hold ups or delays that they can come across in the day.
