Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust are just one of the NHS group to have a state of the art vehicle tracking system installed into their fleet.
This particular trust has the responsibility of transporting patients, specimens, medical staff and its equipment around it’s sites based at Maidstone, Pembury and Tunbridge Wells. Whilst coordinating and carrying around 250 patients a day it seems that vehicle tracking was considered something of need within this NHS. Having the need to stick to set budgets whilst demand for the transport was high, they needed something that could help increase their efficiency for cost and productivity purposes.
The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells trust had a fleet of 18 ambulances that they decided as art of their shake up to install vehicle tracking devices into. Having this on board means they have been able to easily manage the fleet, prioritising work and filtering requests.
Vehicle Tracking has also enabled the NHS trust to have up to date traffic reports and most importantly pin point the exact location of an ambulance when needed.
There is no doubt when it comes to the benefits that a vehicle tracking system can bring to all companies in all industries and the NHS are enjoying those benefits more and more.
