Lone worker tracking systems are currently being used by many companies to ensure that employees are as safe as possible and maximising their productivity.
Lone worker tracking systems are available in a variety of devices that are suitable for a number of purposes. These include home visiting staff and employees that work in hazardous environments such as construction sites, quarries or security based roles.
In addition, employees such those in sales roles can be tracked using a lone worker tracking system. Mobile phone tracking, a form of lone worker tracking, has become increasingly popular. This can be attributed to the systems not requiring employees to carry additional equipment and that hardware costs are kept to a minimum. GPS enabled devices (normally required for tracking) can be supplied through the company’s mobile phone provider.
This can be particularly suitable to those employees that do not often travel by car, such as city workers, as individuals can be tracked beyond their vehicles. The limitations of these devices are that if the battery is depleted or the handset is switched off than the phone cannot be tracked. Due to the rising number of mobile phones and PDAs that now have integrated GPS receivers, and the continuing improvement in battery performance, mobile phone tracking systems offer users good value.
