There are many reasons why companies may want to track their individual mobile workers including health and safety reasons, security or even simply to ensure that their mobile staff are productive and meeting their customer visit targets.
There are a variety of lone worker tracking systems available on today’s market from tracking devices discreetly integrated into existing technologies to tracking devices designed to work in remote parts of the world.
One of the more common devices used to track employee’s is a mobile phone. This is a popular with many companies as their employees already carry mobile phones and it can reduce upfront hardware costs. Whilst any mobile phone can be tracked, GPS enabled handsets provide by far the most accurate tracking location data.
Another common tracking device is a tracking enabled identity badge. This type of tracking system is ideal for home visiting employees such as health care workers and utility engineers where a badge can form part of their uniform. Tracking identity badges can greatly increase the safety of an individual as the wearer can use the device to instantly trigger an SOS/Panic alarm when they are in distress and in need of assistance. The tracking technology within the badge is discreetly integrated as to not arouse suspicion from a customer or patient and importantly the badge is light weight so it can be comfortable worn around the neck or attached to a uniform.
