There are key markets that Tracking Systems can be supplied to and used for, all with a variety of benefits and reasons for needing such systems.
Listed below are a few of these:
• Fleet Management
• Trailer & Asset Tracking
• Stolen Vehicle Tracking
• Lone Worker Tracking
• Field Sales & Field Service Tracking
Asset Tracking
Companies may need to track valuable assets of their companies or on another company’s behalf. With tracking systems they can pin point real time locations of the Asset closely monitor all aspects of the journey it takes
Trailer Tracking
Many haulage firms now have detachable units from the main lorry cab and therefore this individual trailer as it is known needs to be tracked. The trailer could be moved between a numbers of different cabs (the front part of the lorry) and therefore the tracking systems would be fitted to the trailer. These trailers come in all shapes, sizes and descriptions and could be anything from a refrigeration unit to a curtain sided container.
Lone Worker Tracking
This tracking system could be used for care workers, security guards etc, really for any individual that is required to work alone and possibly in remote areas. These systems can have panic buttons and of course real time location and immediate alerts to emergency services.
Field Service and Sales Tracking
For such jobs as field sales and field servicing, the employee’s diaries need to be planned and up to date information and location known so additional customer visits can be allocated to the employee within the area required etc. It is proven that vehicle tracking systems installed into the vehicles of such workers increases productivity, journey times, customer satisfaction and allows more time to be therefore spent with customers as the appointments can be organised in a much more efficient and timely manner.
Stolen Vehicle Tracking
Stolen Vehicle Tracking can be beneficial for commercial and consumer tracking. The tracking systems can be activated if the vehicle is stolen and the police can then track the vehicle and hopefully recover the vehicle with a much faster response time.
Fleet Management
Vehicle tracking systems are probably best known for being installed into fleets of vehicles. Fleet management can be difficult at times and knowing where your vehicles are at all times in real time is important to operations and therefore increases manageability and productivity within the fleet. With delivery companies this can prove very beneficial as the fleet manager can plan routes and advise customers of any hold ups or alternative delivery times.
