When insuring 1 or a whole fleet of vehicles we all look to find the best deal. Many companies, and individuals, that are insuring expensive or high risk vehicles may be required by the insurance provider to arrange for the installation of a tracking system as a condition of their insurance. However many consumers are choosing to install a tracking system for the increased security that they provide and the significant insurance discounts they can offer, in some instances as much as 30%.

It is a common belief that it is only anti theft tracking systems that are able to provide insurance discounts. This is not the case. Fleet vehicle tracking systems can also achieve discounts. This is because a fleet tracking system is always monitoring vehicles so that should that be stolen the tracking system can be used to identify the vehicles location. Insurance providers also recognise that drivers tend to be more responsible and have a safer driver style when they are being monitored, reducing the chances of an accident taking place.

In addition, fleet tracking systems have helped many businesses to protect themselves from bogus claims made against their insurance policy, preventing any unjust excess costs or premium rises.
