An important part of any tracking system is the reports that it provides. Reports provide businesses with the information they need to be able to make cost savings, increase productivity and compare and monitor driver performance. There a number of reports that can be provided by a tracking system and below is an overview of the some of the most commonly sought after:
A ‘Daily Activity’ report provides users with information relating to a vehicles daily performance. These reports normally include information such as start and finish times and journey summaries (start & finish locations, arrival & departure times, duration & distance travelled). Normally included in these reports is a summary including the total mileage, number of journeys and number sites of visited. Whilst these reports are called ‘daily activity’ they can provide details for a specified date period such as a week or month.
An ‘Out of Hours’ activity report highlights journeys made outside of business operational hours. To make use of this report the tracking system requires the user to enter their daily operating hours and any journeys commencing outside of the specified times will be included in the report. An ‘Out of Hours’ activity report is ideal for businesses whose employees take company vehicles home with them but are not allowed to use them for personal journeys.
