Starting on the 1st of March seven celebrities including Jimmy Carr, Patrick Kielty, Russell Howard, Miranda Hart, David Walliams, Davina McCall and Fearn Cotton are taking part in a fundraising cycling event to raise one million pounds in aid of Sport Relief.
The celebrities intend to cycle a massive one thousand miles from John O’Groats in Northern Scotland to Lands End in the South West of England, what’s more is that they will be taking it in turns riding nonstop aiming to complete their challenge in just four days!
Each Celebrity will be wearing a small GPS tracking device that allows members of the public that are interested to visit www.sportrelief.com and click on The Million Pound Bike Ride and follow their progress.
GPS tracking was also recently used for another Sport Relief event, Laurence Dallaglio’s Cycle Slam in which a number of sport stars cycled from Rome to each Rugby ground in the Six Nations tournament.
In addition to tracking celebrities and sports stars for these great events, GPS tracking also has many other uses. Businesses that install GPS tracking systems are able to monitor their vehicles and employees to ultimately improve the productivity of their mobile work force and substantially reduce their operating costs.
