A GPS tracking systems can help keep business men and women safe who have to work in unstable countries. Many countries in Africa and South America suffer from high profile business people being kidnapped and held for ransom. Companies and families increasingly having to pay out large amounts money to kidnappers for the release of loved ones and employees.
A small tracking device inserted in an item of clothing can monitor exactly where a person is twenty four hours a day to within three meters of their position. If a person happened to be abducted they could trigger an alarm which would alert a control centre who in turn could track those persons movements on a computer screen. This would allow the control centre to alert the security services who in turn would be able to either set a road block or mount a rescue attempt to free that person.
GPS tracking systems are also being used by wealthy families in unstable countries to monitor their children as their have been an increased number of incidents involving criminals targeting wealthy families children as a source of income, this combined with personal security guards can really reduce the risk of abduction.
