It seems Fleet Managers are really beginning to see the benefits behind deploying telematics systems into their fleets and in two recent surveys it appears that increased numbers are taking this up.
In a recent seminar held, fleet managers were demonstrated the benefits by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, there were several speakers who offered up information on the latest systems including Ford in America where they demonstrated their new work solutions.
Case studies were also on the topics to be discussed and a case study on tesco.com showed that by fitting telematics systems to the fleet of around Two thousand two hundred vehicles they reduced fuel consumption by around twelve percent and there appeared to be around six percent less vehicle damage.
Health and Safety of drivers is recognised as being a huge benefit to having tracking systems installed also on top of driving down the company costs and creating a far more efficient fleet. Almost more so now is driver safety at the top of the list as previously would have been fuel costs and operating efficiency.
