For many businesses the recession means profits being squeezed to the minimum.
But unlike previous recessions today’s savvy businesses are recovering lost revenue by using tracking to save money. For businesses who provide these services sales are booming!
Tracking companies clients range from mum & dad operations to companies with fleets of vehicles. Clients are able to monitor a vehicles position at any given time. Clients can generate reports that contain day, weeks and months of a vehicles travel history. Dispatchers can send route changes at a touch of a button.
A good example of how vehicle tracking can save a business money appeared recently in an article. One business routinely sent employees on 150 mile trips to perform service calls. Employees were provided with cash for overnight stays, after installing tracking devices it realised that employees were keeping the cash and driving to & from the work site everyday, doubling mileage and costing the company £700 per month.
Other common problems included employees making unauthorised stops and performing their own errands during business hours. If an employee has to face disciplinary action for inappropriate use of a vehicle an employer has all the proof in black and white, so a case is easily resolved.
