The two companies have been fighting head to head over recent years targeting the business of some of the UK’s largest and most prestigous fleets and the move will bring the telematics expertise of Cybit together with the mobile workforce and back office integration pedigree of Masternaut.

The new group will maintain the Masternaut brand but will be headed by Cybit CEO Bill Henry. Henry commented that he expects to see a wave of consolidation across the telematics industry. With the financial muscle of the Francisco Partners behind them there maybe more announcments to come from the new group.
