CMS SupaTrak began to work with Boarhunt in 2008 to assist in helping them achieve a number of goals.

Boarhunt are said to spend over two million pounds on fuel each year so one of the main objectives for them was to find a way/system to help them reduce their fuel costs. Alongside this the company wanted to be able to see their fleet or any given vehicle in real time in order to enhance on their route optimisation and to provide a higher level of service to their customers.

CMS SupaTrak went about customising their EcoTrak system in order to meet the requirements of Boarhunt. Their reporting systems such as league tables and reports on individual drivers, driver behaviour and speeding were all developed to meet the requirements needed.

By using this information provided Boarhunt were then able to drive down costs and increase their miles per gallon from 7.5 to 8.5.
Boarhunt were able to take the reports and collate into a table to hand out to all their drivers where they were ranked on performance. David Pushman ‘Haulage Director’ has said that ‘this creates a healthy sense of competition amongst the drivers’.

CMS SupaTrak was one of the companies to showcase their products at the event and they received a huge deal of interest with their tracking and fuel saving solutions which they displayed for the visitors to the show to experience.

CMS’s SupaTrak Safer Driving Assistant has been a great addition to their already extensive portfolio and seems to have the attention of many operators out there who are looking to create an efficient and safe fleet operation.

Part of the CMS stand featured a scalextric track with a white van, truck and a trailer going round. This of course drew a lot of attention from walkers by and created conversation regarding the challenges that fleet managers are now faced with in their daily jobs of striving to manage their drivers and improve driver behaviour.

The event is said to have been a great success for CMS SupaTrak, being able to offer many company’s great solutions going forward.

They assessed CMS SupaTrak’s EcoTrak system and the fact that this system has the ability to provide customers with actual and consistent carbon monitoring reports and reduces vehicle carbon emissions.

What Does Being Verified Mean?

Now CMS SupaTrak have been verified it means that organisations that choose to use EcoTrak are able to accurately measure the reduction of carbon emissions and sign over the ownership of the amount of reduction saved to DSCEL. DSCEL are then able to sell this carbon to generate funds that can then be used to invest in future and further carbon reduction activities.

It is thought that already a number of customers of EcoTrak have signed up for this to which there are no financial implications. It seems having such a system holds stakeholder appeal for companies and sets them up ready for any current or future legislative compliance.

The display unit can be mounted inside the vehicle on the dashboard and can follow real time movements and react to them. The device can alert drivers if they are speeding or braking harshly as well as alerting them if they are accelerating hard or they have been idling for long periods of time.

These alerts come appear in the display in a visual manner on the LCD display screen although alert tones can be optional and easier for drivers to be alerted at times. The driver behaviours can be set to individual parameters for each particular vehicle or driver and or route as needed.

These real time alerts are also recorded and can be presented via the EcoTrak suite. Drivers who are showing poor performance can be easily noticed corrective driver management can then be implemented if needed.

So far the SDA device has been well received and already fleets are realising its potential for saving fuel and promoting safe driving within fleets.
