Car tracking software has become increasingly sought after by businesses in recent years. During the recent times of recession and economic uncertainty vehicle tracking has received a lot of attention and good press as it has helped many businesses to not only survive these difficult times but be profitable as well.
There are many car tracking software solutions available to customers to choose from, all of which offer different levels of functionality and features. Generally most car tracking software solutions are internet based in that they are either accessed via a web browser or have an application installed ‘locally’ but require an internet connection in order to function.
Car tracking software applications often include a range of both real time and historic features. The real time features allow users to view their vehicles current location and perform tasks such as identifying which vehicle is closest to a specified location. Real time tracking applications normally plot vehicle locations against a virtual map so that users can easily identify their vehicles location. The historic features included are predominately the reports that are generated by the system. These reports allow users to look back at the journeys, sites visited and performance of specified vehicles in order to ensure that employees are meeting their daily objectives, being productive and driving efficiently.
