If you think Vehicle Tracking Systems simply track vehicles then of course no one would blame you but think again. It has been announced that tracking provider Areomark have been tracking one of England’s ex rugby players whilst he embarked on a marathon bike ride, leading a team of 13 other cyclists on an approximate one thousand mile journey.
This was all in the aid of Autism concern and the massive trip was tracked by Areomarks, areotrack vehicle tracking system.
One of the teams bike was fitted with the receiver box, fitting perfectly under the saddle of his bike. By doing this live updates were able to be taken every ten minutes and so the progress of the 14 strong team was constantly monitored.
Vehicle tracking software has been used to track worldwide boat races and the technology is used in many other sports such as Formula one. Some of the boxes are so small that they could be carried by a person so in theory can be used in any running race or journey taken by man or creature.
Of course pet tracking is not something that is new to us and many pet lovers are more than happy to track their beloved ones.
